First, a prediction: The Cleveland Indians will win the AL Central in 2007.
Secondly, I have never created a blog, or blogged, or done any blogging. I don’t even like saying the word blog. It’s like Blah and Log put together, and there isn’t much more blah than the word blah. But, that said, I would like to create a web forum, other than the fantasy league post board, where we can discuss, argue, and insult each other about what is going on in the world of baseball. And more importantly, what is going on in the Sucka Fool League.
Why should we post here instead of, or in addition to, the Yahoo postboard?
1. We all love baseball, and we seem to enjoy watching it together. Half the fun of our league is the times we can get together and talk about baseball while watching a game. Unfortunately, that doesn’t all that much. But if you are watching games at home and have a particular thought on a game (or even want to post a picture of that hispanic girl with the great tits, Danny), this would be a good place to post it.
2. RBI’s are bullshit. So are assists. But that doesn’t mean we should debate such things on the Yahoo post board. However, if you wanna write a book on the subject and post it here, which I may or may not do, go for it! No one will make you read it.
3. At the end of the year, the conversations we have had during our season will all be recorded here. I still think one of us needs to write a book or make a movie about our league.
4. Writing about baseball is fun. Even if I’m the only one who writes, I will keep at it all year. And who knows: the site will be visible to anyone who finds it. Maybe the discussion will expand beyond our league?
5. Let’s go Oakland.

Ahhh, the overrated Indians. I predict that Eric Wedge is the second manager fired next season, shortly after Mike Hargrove. The Indians will be hard pressed to be the best baseball team in Ohio, let alone in the AL Central. Their bullpen was terrible last year, and I don’t think Joe Borowski is going to be enough to rebuild it.. However, adding Josh Barfeld should help their infield defense. And they’re not likely to have trouble scoring runs. But in a division with the White Sox, Tigers and TWINS! they’ve got their work cut out for them.

Pretty much the Indians are going to win the AL Central on the strength of Doug’s sexual attraction to Lady Sizemore and Travis Hafner. With the Twins finishing a close second thanks to Doug’s sexual attraction to Joe Mauer.

It’s true. If there was a Grady Sizemore cologne, I would wear it. It’d be called 30/30.
I’m over Mauer. I love watching him swing, but when I recently trimmed my sideburns for the first time since 90210 came on, I resented Mauer for possibly inspiring me to keep them longer than I should have.
Seriously, though, the Twins don’t have the pitching and the Whitesox over performed in 2005. Given the three additions to Cleveland’s bullpen, and their already strong offense getting stronger with the addition of Delucci, Barfield, and a full year from Choo and Marte, they are my dark horse pick to win the division.
If Hafner doesn’t break his hand or his head this year, he’s MVP. Fuck that being a DH stuff. It’s a position in the AL.
