According to the Seattle Times, Mind the Gap pitcher Eric Bedard is in Seattle today for a physical. A move to the Mariners and pitcher-friendly Safeco Field stands to benefit Bedard in 2008.
It’s highly debatable whether or not the move will be enough to turn last year’s over-achieving M’s into a playoff team, but it should help 2nd place finisher Mind the Gap’s shot at a Sucka Fool title run in 08.

With Seattle’s history of luggage related injuries (remember Sasaki??), I predict Bedard will blow out his elbow carrying his suitcase home after the trade is completed.
